  1. Don’t forget to tick gift aid too, so the government have to contribute too.

Maybe (and I’m optimistic) this is a good thing. I have seen so many tents appear in parks, shop doorways, beside roads etc in my town. This could be the Streisand effect in action as it’s NOT a lifestyle choice for foreigners to be sleeping rough

  2. He’s painfully unfunny to me, but this is a good cause so he’s gone up in my book. Homeless people really do need more support at this time of year.

  3. The best part was Lycett suggesting everyone Gift Aid their contributions so “Suella’s government have to give an additional 25%.”

How anyone can be so deeply ignorant and callous to suggest homelessness is a choice regardless of nationality and origins is insane. Hopefully she’s out next year, and if there was any justice rotting in some newly built prison for dodgy politicians and cronies with the rest of her government mates.

Lycett has been great tackling injustices in his own way. His response to Beckham et al and the Qatar World Cup showed a genuine disappointment and disgust in supposed allies and anti-slavery advocates who change their tune when money is involved.

  4. I love Joe Lycett. Daft bastard has done some sterling work in the name of consumer and social justice. I hope he collaborates with Jonathan Pie one day!

  5. It’s all performative.

There are no moustache-twirling villains in the world.

The banality of evil is that it isn’t active, it’s that it’s indifferent.

The whole thing is just a cynical ploy to literally appeal to the worst instincts of the electorate.

The fact that she’s clearly still quite popular demonstrates that better than it could ever be explained.
