  1. >Swedish dock workers refuse to unload Tesla cars. Confederation leader Jørn Eggum states that the Confederation is considering measures if cars are diverted to Norway.

    >A strike against Tesla among Swedish workshop workers has been extended further on Tuesday, according to the TT news agency.

    >Four Swedish ports have been blocked from Tuesday morning for the unloading of Tesla cars, following a sympathy action from the Swedish Transportarbetarförbundet (Transport). The promotion is now being extended to all Swedish ports.

    >At the same time, manager Tommy Wreeth in Transport states that the union is in contact with its colleagues in Norway and Denmark, to see if so-called “conflict assistance” is possible.

    >This is confirmed by union leader Jørn Eggum in Fellesforbundet to E24.

    >- Has Transport in Sweden made contact regarding refusing Tesla to land cars at Norwegian ports?

    >- We have a good dialogue with the Swedish Transport Workers’ Union and we are considering possible measures if Tesla cars arrive at Norwegian ports that should actually have arrived in Sweden, Eggum writes in an email on Tuesday evening.

    >When asked whether it would be appropriate to contribute conflict assistance to the Swedish colleagues, Eggum says that that assessment will be taken if an inquiry comes.

    >- We continuously assess which measures may be appropriate to implement here in Norway. Our members will be continuously informed about what our assessments will mean for how they should act in this situation, says Eggum.

    >- No port workers in Sweden want to touch a Tesla

    >In Sweden, Tommy Wreeth tells TT that he suspects Tesla is trying to circumvent the blockade by calling at other ports or using other types of boats than pure car transport ships.

    >Central Ombudsman Anders Gustafsson in Transport says that neither of the two car vessels in Malmö harbor on Tuesday has a Tesla on board.

    >- Our goal is that no Tesla should be unloaded or loaded in Sweden. No port workers in Sweden want to touch a Tesla, he tells TT.

    >Employees in Swedish Tesla operations began the strike on Friday 27 October. The demand from the trade union IF Metall is that Tesla must enter into a collective agreement. Tesla has so far refused to do that.

    >From the start, around 130 workers were taken out on strike. On Friday, the strike was extended to apply to 17 workshops and around 500 people, according to Motor.no.

    >On Tuesday, a further escalation is announced for cleaners and electricians at the company’s Swedish plant.
    Tesla: Unlucky

    >E24 contacted the American electric car giant on Tuesday afternoon, without so far receiving a reply.

    >On Tuesday morning, the company gave a written comment to TT.

    >”It is unfortunate that IF Metall has taken these measures. Tesla follows Swedish labor market regulations, but like many other companies has chosen not to enter into a collective agreement,” writes a representative of Tesla Sweden to the news agency.

    >”We already offer equivalent or better agreements than those covered by collective bargaining, and see no reason to sign any other agreement”.

    >According to TT, Tesla is still open to dialogue with IF Metall.

  2. This event and response overall made me proud of Sweden. We have many problems, but the backbone of the country built in 60s-70s starting to show up

  3. i can feel the Americans having a meltdown about unions working right

  4. Electricians also announced they will stop supporting over 200 loading stations and 10 workshops on the 17th if a deal isn’t reached. I’m not sure if they will only refuse to service or if they will actually cut the power though
