Sweden able to send Gripen to Ukraine – Defence Minister confirms

  1. Defence Minister Pål Jonson stresses in an interview with IL that Sweden is able to donate Gripen. The decision can be made once Sweden has become a member of NATO.

  2. We’ve known about this, but Turkey has yet to ratify and Hungary is probably going to be the spoiler here.

  3. Turkey is just using Sweden as a playing card to get F-16s from the US. As far as Hungary goes, NATO would be so much better off getting rid of Putin’s toady – just trade it for Sweden.

  4. Why does NATO membership approval have anything to do with Sweden’s decision to send Gripens? Is Sweden waiting for financing help from NATO countries?

    I don’t think there is any way other countries can block Sweden from sending Gripens even if they aren’t in NATO.
