I used to train with a guy who actively bred sausage dogs (dachshunds). One of the breeding females was adopted by a friend because she had had too many puppies – that poor dog is an absolute mess, mentally. She’s scared of her own shadow, hates males, and has only recently started to see me as a positive in her little life – I’ve shown her nothing but love for 4 years and she’s still skittish around me but is finally sitting with me when i visit. She was just meat to him, meat to breed more money for him and I’ve had nothing to do with him for a long time. RSPCA have been to see him but he’s apparently doing nothing wrong 😑
