  1. Waiting for mainstream media to tell me how bad this is for Biden lol.

  2. Stop looking at the hype, stop looking at the pollsters, stop buying into the media narrative that this is some how a close race 50/50.

Look at the record since 2020 for Dems voting around the country, that is the real metric, none of the fluffy matters.

  3. >Cameron had been endorsed by the 2024 Republican presidential frontrunner in the polls, Donald Trump. Speaking after his primary win was confirmed in May, he said: “The Trump culture of winning is alive and well in Kentucky.”

    LOL. So. Much. Winning.

  4. Pundits right now: Our polls were right, the voters were wrong!

Click here to find out how that’s bad for Biden.

  5. OK so a chunk of that swing is probably the Incumbant advantage. But still to go from 79.1% votes for Trump to 53% for the Dem governor is a crazy swing, especially when Trump endorsed the R candidate

  6. The “Trump” brand is synonymous with tremendous failure.

Business, casinos, water, university, foundation, political campaigns… Even his laywers get disbarred and indicted!

Don’t associate with that name unless you want to end your life as a disgraced failure.

  7. Delusional GOP need to understand, as much as you love Orange Jesus, there’s a shit ton of us out here who do not want our democracy and system of justice run into the ground, and our nation turned into a banana republic; or a client-state of the Russian Empire.

  8. The media need to make everyone believe Trump still has a chance so they continue to grift off of him.

  9. I great big “thank you” to all of my friends and relatives who stayed behind to find the good fight in Kentucky.

  10. Good. ‘Biden’s economy is doing way better than ‘Trumps for sure.

  11. Trump: “Don’t worry about voting, we have plenty of votes.” The best votes. Bigly votes!

  12. Going to add some context

    This is my home county

In 2022, a huge portion of the county was flooded, devastating flooding

Beshear was boots on the ground, almost within a day or two. Providing supplies, relief, loosening restrictions on emergency measures.

If you look at all the flood counties (Letcher, Knott, Perry, Breathitt) he solidly outperformed Trump in 2020 and himself in 2019.

And as much as I love Andy, that whole area still struggles with racism. And Beshear’s opponent was a black man, married to a white woman.

  13. Keep hitching your horses to a criminal con man, and 2024 will be a true bloodbath for the GOP. They are on their way to extinction.

  14. Gotta thank the GOP for working overtime to get Democrats elected.

  15. Beshear lost Letcher by only a little under 8 points in 2019. While it’s a flip, and certainly a small referendum on Trumpism, it says more about how people feel about Beshear than how they feel about Trump. You can see that pretty clearly when you look down ballot at the GOP winning AG, SOS, Ag Commish, and Treasurer. Dems had a pretty decent showing in Kentucky, but it means almost nothing for Biden in the long run.

  16. I don’t think this is a ‘flip’ – they just like the governor. Even my redneck relatives out there voted for him. If you think Kentucky and Letcher County are going Democrat in 2024 you’re smoking something good.

  17. I don’t think GQP understands how the abortion issue is going to sink them.

  18. This county was one of those that experienced intense flooding and Beshear handled it like a pro. I have to think that was a major factor.

  19. I love how trumps statement on the elections is placing blame on everyone else for someone losing (example: Mitch McConnell) but where anyone wins it’s “because of my involvement!”

If that isn’t classic trump. He could NEVER possibly be the reason someone lost, right?

  20. MAGA, keep doing the same thing, keep getting the same result.

  21. If everyone who can vote does vote republicans will never get elected again. Republicans themselves keep saying this as if it’s some justification for trying to overturn elections and gerrymander, and not just a sign they need to fucking stop.

  22. Good chance Covid did a lot of the heavy lifting here.

  23. I just want to find that lying NYT pollster so I can make them eat my shit.

  24. It at least shows you the type of candidate and politician who could resonate on both sides of the aisle. It also gives Democrats hope for 2028, as he could be one of the early frontrunners.

At the same time, I don’t think his win has anything to do with where Biden currently stands in popularity, especially when there will be a higher voter turnout.

  25. That’s great, but articles like this cause would-be voters to become complacent. STILL VOTE NEXT YEAR.

  26. Yeah this is why I was doubting that poll. Most people under 45 don’t answer random polls but more of them vote. And many are still pissed at republicans for the trump era.

And republicans can’t help themselves but keep bleating about Trump, Hunter Biden’s giant dong, being bigots against LGBTQ, hating women, being anti-abortion,screaming about voter fraud they never proved once…. All losing policy.

2024 is going to have all that baggage plus a likely criminally convicted Donald Trump as the GOP nominee. I think 2024 is winding up to be a blue wave bloodbath for the GOP long as we all remember to vote.

  27. The article misses some big swings. Letcher wasn’t the only deep red district that went to Andy

The below counties are counties Beshear flipped from the 2020 presidential election from R to D…

    Perry- Trump +54 (Beshear +11)

    Letcher – Trump +60 (Beshear + 4.6)

Powell- Trump +49 (Beshear by 1 vote… 1,518 to 1,517 according to NBC)

    Bourbon- Trump +30 (Beshear +8)

    Clark- Trump +22 (Beshear +3)

    Boyle- Trump +25 (Beshear +5)

    ——

Perry and Letcher counties had 65 point swings from R -> D.

Powell was a 49 point swing

Bourbon was a 38 point swing

Clark and Boyle between 25 and 30 points

  28. Every year is a new batch of 18 year old voters tired of Republicans shit.

  29. I’ve lived in KY for most of my life. Unfortunately this is almost meaningless for any other race for two reasons. First, Andy is extremely well liked as a person (many good reasons) and is seen as the “exception” by republicans. Second, a large part of the state is still extremely racist. That said, he’d make a great presidential candidate in 2028.

  30. What irks me is that not only are Republicans blind to the fact they are fucking themselves, it’s that so many media outlets are still reporting on the Republican policies and lawmakers like they have a chance. Every news outlet should be reporting this and all the other insane results against republicans and MAGA lawmakers as a huge swing in the tide, I really don’t see this going well for Republicans.

If Trump is the republican nominee, and he will be, they will get fucked so hard in the election.

  31. Perhaps the Republicans have finally found an issue that will get young people to vote, just not for them.
