Don’t think it’ll be a great film but this seems premature
I liked all 3 of the movies this article mentions as the top 3 worst reviewed movies on rotten tomato by critics. (Seriously, how is Quantumania and Eternals worse than Thor 2?)
It’s almost like critics have no taste whatsoever and their sole job is to generate bad takes so people hate read them. Genuinely the most useless career you could possibly have. No one needs or likes them but writing a shit post generates more attention than an honest opinion.
feels like the concept of this movie was born in Disney’s marketing department trying to fit a bunch of stuff together to hit the marks and metrics but the final product just doesn’t really work. at least the cgi in this one doesn’t seem to be a complete shit show? yay…
Marvel should scrap the next 2 Avengers and reboot with X-Men and Fantastic 4 hire their old writers release 2 movies a year because what they are currently doing is pathetic.
IMHO they just should have stopped after Thanos. Epic saga, now move on.
RT is for MAGA neckbeards
Among the most read and articulate critics I’ve read so far, they are really divided over *The Marvels*. Not mixed opinions, but half sees it bad, half sees it good.
Thus, the middling score.
Guess I’ll have to see it for myself.
I blame her massive forehead
Feels like these days Marvel and Disney films are the only movies that get any attention. If you don’t like marvel or disney then it feels like movies barely exist.
Dang people watched it?
NY POST that gave 0/4:
“Ostensibly made for the average moviegoer, “The Marvels” requires homework for a basic understanding of its plot. You need to watch at least two Disney+ series — “Ms. Marvel” and “WandaVision” — and the awful 2019 film “Captain Marvel” just to know who the characters are.
And once you do? Meh.”
Isn’t this contradictory and very biased language. It seems that you don’t NEED to watch the shows to understand as it is not providing enormous benefit to the film?
Also, is this not the sequel to Captain Marvel? How is it a fair critique that you need to watch the first movie to have a better understanding of the sequel? All movies work like that.
Lastly, call the first movie bad is so unbiased, how is this supposed to be a fair objective review?
There are other weird sentiments and overtones in the review but I just wanted to point this out. highly recommend watching for yourself and forming your own opinion.
Dang people still give a fuck about “reviewers?”
Go see the movie. As has been proven, these rotten tomatoes scores are bullshit. Don’t be a follower, go watch the movie and decide for yourself
53 is surprisingly high
This might be Black Adam, The Suicide Squad level bad. Maybe even worse.
I don’t pay much attention to reviews these days. It seems everyone is just out to pan a movie in a more savage way than anyone else.
Not to say this is going to be an amazing movie but I’ve seen some that I thought were really good & the reviews just bamboozle me as to how bad they can be.
My concern with the new Marvel movie (which I will be going to see actually) is that it’ll be goofy AF. I didn’t like Ms. Marvel at all. I thought it was way too goofy & it’s been the only Marvel TV show or movie that I’ve actually felt like I’ve had to force myself through to watch (I only kept with it as I knew she’d be in the upcoming movie so in case there was anything in the TV show I needed to know for reference).
Rotten Tomatoes is irrelevant.
Is it actually that bad or are there some sexist incels in the chat
Who gives a fuck about what the critics say? It’s not made for them.
Meh. I’m still watching it and I’ll enjoy it
Tbf it’ll probably do well on D+
They need to quit making Marvel movies for a while. They need to quit trying to constantly shove all of this poor quality CGI crap down our throats.
Take a couple of years off. Break the traditional formula and focus on a script that highlights character development and growth. Work on improving the CGI quality, and deliver a movie that isn’t just one boring fight scene after another.
Shocked shocked I say
Dudes dry-hating on movies clearly marketed towards women seems so weird to me. Same thing happened to Ghostbusters, Barbie and now the Marvels.
Why didn’t they stop at Endgame? It was right in the name.

Little early for this really.

I thought the last thread said it was all wacky?
https://parade.com/movies/should-you-trust-rotten-tomatoes why are we even still using rotten tomatoes as a movie reviews standard?
Third worst… So far
