Hi guys !

There was a post on r/Hungary a few hours back, with the title: [Finno-Ugric linguistic relationship: average hungarian labourers](https://www.reddit.com/r/hungary/comments/17qhtql/finnugor_nyelvrokons%C3%A1g_%C3%A1tlag_magyar_munk%C3%A1sok/)

The overall consensus for us is that these 2 Finnish speaking guys sound like they’re speaking drunken Hungarian that you cannot quite make out.

Does Hungarian sounds like drunken Finnish to you guys ? I’m really curious 😀

  1. Sounds Slavic to me. Or maybe a Swede trying to sound Finnish. Estonian sounds like drunken Finnish

  2. I went on a weird rollercoaster on Estonian to Russian to Swedish in the first minute 😀

  4. Nope that is definitely hungarian. As a finnish and swedish speaker. Cannot be mistaken for any of those.

  5. Sounds very Slavic especially with all the kurva in there, so yeah not drunken Finnish.

    I think Finnish and Hungarian are as closely related as Russian and English.

  6. They ARE drunk and speak a West Coast Finnish dialect.

  7. Hungarian intonation actually does sound like Finnish that you cannot quite make out.

  8. Sounds like swedish mixed with polish. Those guys are probably drunk.

  9. To me (Finland-Swedish) that sounds like I imagine norwegians trying to sound finnish would sound like.

  10. Sounds like Danish (Swedish with hot potato in your mouth) and with a sprinkle of “kurwa” in there.

  12. Sounds like a Slavic person, who have lived in Sweden for decades, trying to sound like they spoke Finnish.

  13. English is more closely related to the Greek language than Finnish is to Hungarian. Besides a couple of linguistic similarities, no, Finnish and Hungarian are not similar.

  14. Well it sounds like Turkish, but with that Finnic mälämälä, päläpälä-feature.

  15. sounds like mix of Finnish Estonian and Russian tbh.
