Those poor kids. It was hard just to listen on the radio to the journalist recounting the insane rubbish they were saying about their mother’s death. I can’t imagine what it must have been like to have to sit there in court and listen to it.

What these two animals did to the poor man as he slept was appalling. What they tried to do to his reputation over the last week in an effort to get off was disgusting.
I hope their lives are utterly destroyed after this and when they eventually get released after this pitifully short sentence that they never get accepted back into society.
This is what can be accomplished with good lawyers, if they were poor, they would have never got a retrial and probably would have spent the rest of their lives in prison
Scum Molly and Tom have done well to get 20-25 years down to about 4.5. So I’m sure they’re happy enough. The additional prison time is weak sauce. She could be out in less than a year so I guess they succeed in Tom taking the fall for her by doing an extra year in the slammer in his 70’s.
It’s disappointing the judge found mitigating circumstances. But interestingly he didn’t elaborate on what that was because I would imagine even he was embarrassed to say he thought Jason Corbett had been attacking Molly that night. He’s given them leniency for lies and didn’t even have the spine to say why. They tried to ruin Jason’s character based on an elaborate fabrication of events and they succeeded in getting their sentences down and I think the judge should be embarrassed of himself also. Their expert witnesses were equally embarrassing. While they were hired to promote her cause they really seemed to leave their credentials at the door of the courthouse and speculate on improbable scenarios. The prosecution expert from Kentucky, Mr Nichols who criticised the Irish post mortem report of Jason’s first wife due to the lack of detail could amazingly 100% dismiss asthma and yet felt it was appropriate to speculate on it being possibly murder. Embarrassing. He struck me as a man who’s career has been spent too close to too many dead bodies. Warped logic.
And then Molly and Tom tried to twist everything back against Jason Corbett. That he killed his first wife – lie. That he wouldn’t sign over adoption papers so as to keep control over Molly – lie. That he attacked her – lie. The best Molly could get was a secret recording of him raising his voice. Pathetic.
And the poor man’s blood up and down the walls and ceiling with not a mark on either of them.
To Jason Corbett’s eternal credit he never signed adoption papers. In the face of incredible pressure from Molly, her parents and other family members. He held firm and told Tom Martens to never bring it up with him again when it was asked directly. And I think deep down it was because Jason didn’t trust Molly and that truth was devastating to her. He would marry her but rightfully never entrust her with the life of his children even at the expense of his own. If anything it’s abundantly clear to me that Jason was exasperated in this marriage to Molly Martens who is clearly a troubled individual enabled at every turn by her arrogant family. Just massively arrogant, insidious, conniving and cruel individuals.
Frankly, the Americans can have them. And possibly call them neighbours next year on release. I hope Molly and Tom live forever for what they did to Jason Corbett.
They even tried to suggest he murdered his first wife!
Got “expert” witnesses involved to testify.
Even though his first wife died in front of him and her sister of an asthma attack, who witnessed him giving her cpr. The family of his first wife alway sung his praises and that he was welcome in their house anytime.

I still can’t figure out how there was a plea deal for manslaughter. How was it even entertained? The prosecution here appear to be totally inept too.
My understanding is that I go to hit a guy because he’s being a prick. I land a punch and he wallops his head off the ground and dies. My intention was to hurt him….unfortunately my actions killed the guy. That’s manslaughter?
If myself and another person arm ourselves with a baseball bat and a concrete block and repeatedly use these weapons on an individual, how is that not murder? A vicious and unrelenting assault where an individual is brutally beaten is not manslaughter. That’s murder.
The US is a fucked up place and it is a basket case of a country.
