“ANSA) – ROME, NOV 8 – The Italian navy ship Vulcano, equipped with a hospital and operating theatres, has been deployed to the Middle East to receive wounded people from Gaza, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said on Wednesday.
Crosetto added that a field hospital will also be sent “directly to Gaza in agreement with the Palestinians”.
“We are the first to carry out a humanitarian operation in that area and we hope other countries will follow suit,” said the minister.
At the end of last month Italy sent two batches of humanitarian aid to Egypt for distribution through the Egyptian Red Crescent to the suffering civilian population in Gaza.”
I’m happy and proud this is happening.

last time when turkish human organization sent ship with bunch a aid stuff and food and etc to palestine. israel sent to army to ship when ship was in international sea and killed 10 civilian. so be careful italy
Good, I trust Italy to not allow Hamas to hide in their hospitals and give actual medical aid for people there who ACTUALLY need it
Great, now why not evacuate all the non Hamas people in Al-Sheifa hospital to there? That hospital has double use as both a hospital and Hamas headquarters. It has a Hamas bunker underneath and tunnels that some go from patients rooms.
edit: Seeing the downvotes I’m wondering – is your point is to help civilians or help Hamas stay in power? Why would you object to evacuating people from a hospital with a terror org in it?
We have a history of helping those in need in foreign wars. If memory serves we did the same in Vietnam.
The Netherlands is sending ‘the Holland’ Holland-class marine ship to the region for humanitarian support.
It’s a real shame that they don’t send their ships to intercept the illegal migrants from Africa.
It seems like a hopeless situation anyway.
Israel can’t just not respond after the huge attack, so this was inevitable.
Meanwhile innocent Palestinians have their families killed and many will then become militants, thus causing further killing on both sides, etc.
Like the best outcome for Gaza in this situation is for the southern half to remain as sort of reservation, and the future generations are able to peacefully survive in poverty and rebuild a little from the forced displacement – much like the Native Americans. And that’s a pretty grim outcome.

The coast of Gaza should become a floating city made out of medical aid ships and other ships capable of aiding Palestinian civilians.. I support Israel’s goal of destroying Hamas but bombing ambulances or refugee camps just to take down one Hamas fighter is idiotic and the leveling of the entire “region” is (as the UN said) a war crime. Fuck Hamas and fuck the Israeli government.
(Probably) Won’t get bombed by the IDF, can’t be tunneled under by Hamas. Hats off to Italy for the double win.
