My local fruit and veg shop shows what a plate of each potato looks like when cooked. What do people think of this concept? Is it a step too far or an example of Irish people’s love of a good spud?

4. Unless they refresh them every couple of hours, or at least every day, it seems like a rather moronic idea.

   People who come in tomorrow and are greeted by the sight of Mondays freshly cooked spuds are hardly going to be looking at them thinking that’s what they fancy for dinner ?

11. There used to be a shop in Wilton shopping centre that did this a few years ago. I always wondered are you just meant to look at it or can you poke it (for science obvs)
