Wow. Wtf. Why did they still keep after the first few offences.

Just a few bad apples, like the last lot of bad apples, and the ones before that, and before that. Also ignore the rotting apple trees too
If you’re old enough to see what kids in school became police constables you really won’t be surprised with what is going on.
Everyone in his chain of command deemed PC Ryan Connolly fit to be a police officer,
The chain of command thought PC Ryan Connolly suitable to interact with public,
PC Ryan Connolly was considered safe to be in contact with vulnerable people, PC Ryan Connolly was trusted with access to confidential information.
Everyone knows a few nasty hateful grim duplicitous humans, we tend to identify them pretty quickly. Just so odd that trained people with such responsibility do not have basic skills.
A whole chain of command ignored the failings of this individual, so he was able to cause real harm.
They failed to act, and failed to recognise PC Ryan Connolly’s behaviour as unacceptable, because it took place in culture inappropriate behaviour.
If there is ever to be a change in culture within the police forces, Each and every single time an officer is accused of wrongdoing , there has to be a independent public enquire, where the entire chain of command must be held fully accountable.
The culture will only change ,when there is incentive from within to change.
It seems like every force in the country has a handful of corrupt officers or idiots who have no idea what decorum is. It’s no wonder people are losing faith in the police, budget cuts are one thing but it seems like the police are no longer moral beacons of the community, just filled with anyone who will applies due to desperation. I suspect plenty of decent officers have been driven out when they try to challenge this sort of behaviour too.
There are knobheads in every group, it seems that this case was actually dealt with quickly and appropriately once he was accused of anything.
And all those police officers in the WhatsApp groups who received those messages and said nothing!
They should be sacked!
Truly a disgusting individual, reminds me of LA Sheriff deputies (US) who took and shared pics of the bodies of Kobe Bryant and his daughter after helicopter crash.
>He was cleared of trying to acquire cannabis while a serving officer.
special treatment
At what point does this grossly offensive behaviour go beyond a workplace disciplinary issue and become a ‘misconduct in public office’?
I get this is a disciplinary tribunal so limited to dismissal, but is their any chance of criminal charges emerging from this? Or is it something the CPS isn’t going to pursue?
