And its just taking place under the supervision of one of the biggest and useless food chains there is. In a perfect world no one would eat there after reading of such serious reports. Yet will people just abandon all principle and continue? Where is the Law?

The business manager who basically owned the store was the main culprit but I was reduced to tears often due to being screamed at for trivial shit

McDonalds is kinda expensive now.
Hard to get a meal with am milkshake for under about 8 quid.
Kids, if you’re working at McDonald’s and you see any of this behaviour. Buy a cheap audio recorder or use your phone. Record. Then run down to the closest ambulance chaser and wait for either the court to fuck them or corporate McDonald’s to put you on the property ladder.
This behaviour is super illegal and we have laws you can use.
Surely this is a case by case (or restaurant by restaurant) basis. Good on McDonald’s for taking a stance and referring to them as “our staff” when in reality all McDs in the UK are a separate small business (Or a few under the same group) with different owners calling the shots.
McD are a real estate and distribution company, not a restaurant company. You don’t normally hear landlords involving themselves when workplace allegations come up with their tenants. Withdrawing the lease and/or franchise (depending on location) would be good to see though.
