  1. This is a potentially interesting story. It’s worth noting how the First Minister’s line is changing following pressure.

In a few hours we have gone from “I don’t use WhatsApp” to “I do not use it regularly to send messages.”

That begs the question to how regular is regularly? Does he still regularly receive messages or use communications received to inform his decisions?

This is another good example of the First Minister offering misleading responses to the Senedd and then having to change his story when caught out – this time by an image of the phone it seems.

I suspect we might end up in a place where we in Wales once again made similar errors as England during covid.

  2. Tuesday – “I don’t use WhatsApp”

Wednesday – “I do not use it regularly”

One must wonder how many other times he’s blatantly lied and has successfully gotten away with it.

  3. At my workplace there are rules around conducting official business on Whatsapp, FB messenger etc. We use MS Teams and email as the official channels & all records are kept on there.

Seems amazing that the Welsh Government (as well as the Scottish & UK as a whole governments) didn’t seem to have these regulations when making decisions that, in some cases, were literally life or death.

  4. How convenient.

He manages to install the app, but doesn’t use it at all?

You mean he doesn’t use the app and is ‘**honest**’ **as the day is long** and uses sms instead to send messages to his fellow colleagues, addressing all things ‘Covid’ and would never tell a porky or do anything wrong when being in power for so long?

Because (he knows) the telecom company can be ordered to reveal the sms texts being sent and the replies. Of course he never used whatsapp at all and that the Welsh Labour party is full of integrity and stands for honesty and truth, unlike Parliament and Scotland.

Now he might claim that he doesn’t know how to delete it, but it doesn’t stop him from his secretary or colleague doing the deleting for him does it?

    Yeah right

Let’s ask the important questions such as, has he used Telegram or Signal as well to contact his colleagues to discuss all parliamentary issues as well as Covid.

  5. We keep hearing/seeing contradictions in his stories all of the time. Is there any wonder why people are so suspicious of why they are so keen to avoid having a Wales Covid Enquiry ?

It does make it seem as though there might be many more skeletons that they do not want coming out of the cupboard

  6. Seems to be a lot of focus on Drakeford, but Gething (as usual) is managing to avoid scrutiny. Hopefully is just a case of all his info has been handed over and there is no story, but some of his decisions also key.

  7. online harms bill, they can scan his phone easy , but im starting to think that dosent apply to ruling classes
