The Jerusalem Post reported that journalists from major news outlets were present during a Hamas attack on October 7, which raised questions about their knowledge of the event and their ethics in journalism. HonestReporting highlighted these concerns, questioning whether the photographers were aware of the massacre in advance. The Jerusalem Press Club suggested possible complicity in the crime. In response, Reuters denied prior knowledge of the attack and any involvement with Hamas. The Israeli Communications Minister has called for a swift and thorough response to these allegations【22†source】【23†source】【24†source】【25†source】【26†source】.
I can only see freelance journalists mentioned there. Of course news agencies will buy pictures from people who were at the scene. It’s worth looking into though.
They’re Hamas media wing. Surprisingly airstrikes have diminished their numbers quite a bit by accident.
On a related note, this article from a couple years back includes Gaza “journalists” talking about participating in a Hamas military group chat, and includes the very same Hassan Eslaieh guy talking about being in a group called “Hamas Media”, sounds like there’s been coordination going on for years:
> Twelve of the 17 journalists contacted by the AP said they had been part of a WhatsApp group that disseminates information related to Hamas military operations. Hamas, which rules over the Gaza Strip, is viewed as a terrorist organization by Israel and the United States, where WhatsApp owner Facebook is headquartered.
> Hassan Slaieh a freelance journalist in Gaza whose WhatsApp account is blocked, said he thinks his account might have been targeted because he was on a group called Hamas Media.
>
> “This has affected my work and my income because I lost conversations with sources and people,” Slaieh said.

Crazy how media knew about the attack before mighty mossad did
I remember reading a BBC article of their journalists “held at a gun point” by Israeli police even though the car “was clearly marked by duct tape as media.”
I am not saying the big organizations knew ahead of time, but we can stop pretending that they are some unbiased 3rd party reporters.

So news organizations should be blamed when freelancers provide them with news? It’s not as if they sent employees.
Sure seems like everyone knew about an attack except Israel.
They should be labeled as terrorists and hunted by Mossad.
The video with the CNN affiliate holding a hand grenade on the way to massacre Israeli civilians is as unbelievable as CNN’s response of
“oh we won’t work with that guy in the future”
there’s no way of this happening at 6am without prior knowledge of the attack or something big going down
Shit headline
Their deaths will be added to the journalist death toll, and be blamed on Israeli trying to “silence” the war in Gaza.
Israel will literally say anything to justify targeting the media, ambulances, civilians etc..
The IDF killed a journalist and covered it up. This is a fact.
That’s Gaza.
Police – Hamas
Doctors – Hamas.
Journalists – Hamas.
Teachers – Hamas.
UN – Hamas.
Anyone who is not Hamas either left, or can’t get a job.
I knew some had to be with hamas
Too many articals went online at once to make sense
Everything one needs to know about how the media operate in the context of the conflict. A real eye-opener.

Some important things to note about this:
– It now appears that most of Hamas wasn’t informed about the plans for a single big attack [until the day itself, when it was mostly verbally communicated](https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/07/secret-hamas-attack-orders-israel-gaza-7-october), explaining how Israel intelligence failed to pick up on it. Hamas’ leadership in Qatar, Iran and these journalists were very likely unaware about the specifics of the attack until 7/10.
– These journalists are native Gazans who are freelance photographers and aren’t direct employees of the international news organisations who bought their photos.
– At least one of them was in groupchats with Hamas members and wasn’t wearing any identification that they were a member of the press during the attacks.
– It remains unclear if Hamas tipped them off on the day (they provided a useful propaganda purpose by taking photos of destroyed Israeli tanks and hostages being taken), or they just followed Hamas through the breaches in the fence. It now appears that members of at least one separate jihadist group and random Gazan ‘civilians’ also crossed the fence to join the attack.
What action should be taken Israel? Countless gazan freelance journalists have already been kill, and they have no proof that they had prior knowledge.
This is nothing more than a propaganda pice to garner sympathy for Israel in attempt to justify their ruthless bombing campaign.
Terrorists with a camera
So the media want to hire some freelancers and one hamas guy or maybe more, who knows, decides to pick up a part time job, so when he does not go out killing Israelis, he put on his press vest and make up some numbers of Palestinian casualties.
