So the problem is they are claiming the journalists knew about the attack beforehand and did nothing to stop it? So basically like Netanyahu, except it’s not the journalist’s responsibility to stop it.
Edit – Shit, didn’t realize I was in worldnews. Downvote away!
Freelance photojournalists. No, there was no press vest or helmet, or anything press related. Were ‘militants’ with GoPros. Might as well have had an AK-47 they’ll still call them journalists, ’cause cnn, al jazeera and others buys footage and collaborate with them.
BEWARE. Trolls and shills are out in force in this comment section pushing propaganda.
So journalists shouldn’t report massacres ?
The hyenas of the press world
Reuters statement (which is in this article) –
“Reuters acquired photographs from two Gaza-based freelance photographers who were at the border on the morning of Oct. 7, with whom it did not have a prior relationship. The photographs published by Reuters were taken two hours after Hamas fired rockets across southern Israel and more than 45 minutes after Israel said gunmen had crossed the border. Reuters staff journalists were not on the ground at the locations referred to in the HonestReporting article.”
I mean…this checks out. Photos were taken after the Hamas attack started. Is it really more far fetched to believe that photojournalists heard the attack and rushed to the scene?
Being in the middle of a warzone documenting atrocities is just standard photojournalism… I swear peoples brains have rotted. Every war you can think of has had some reckless people jump in there with a camera.
Israel is serving the fascist agenda very well, killing children, bombing schools and hospitals, salting the earth with phosphorus, and of course, their favorite, targeting journalists.
Maybe if they didn’t engage in wholesale slaughter of innocents, then there wouldn’t be so many people trying to document the process?
The dude is literally in the pictures with Hamas leaders where one is KISSING HIM, and people be like “hmmmmmm, I guess we will never know the truth”. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏽
Yeah, genocidal maniacs don’t really like it when their crimes are shown apparently
These aren’t staff reporters for the news agencies listed. Even calling them “freelancers” seems generous, Reuters for example says they had no prior relationship with this person. They’re basically people who were there and had pictures to sell. Ridiculous to go after the news outlets for this.
Israel: These guys saw our crimes! that was not the deal.
“See? It’s fine that we killed several dozen journalists guys, please give more money. :)”
All is fair in love and war. If Israel wants to Mossad these journalists they will do it with or without the support of anyone else.
this is after German state media was _threatened at gunpoint and called ‘traitors’ after being asked if they were Jewish or not_ by IDF.
where is action for that, why are these soldiers not punished?
[original German from Tagesschau](https://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/asien/ard-team-angegriffen-100.html):
>”Die Soldaten haben uns mit ihren Waffen bedroht und uns gefragt, ob wir Juden seien. Unsere Kollegin wurde als Verräterin beschimpft”, berichtet Kitzler.
What are they angry about, that journalists may have caught wind of an impending assault by Hamas? That people were documenting what happened on the scene, and it might conflict with official reports?
I’ve heard some pretty convincing claims that Israeli and American intelligence were anticipating the attack too, that they choose not to take the security threat seriously for a myriad of reasons.
I think it’s more likely that Israel doesn’t want independent press on the ground, right out of the American playbook post Vietnam. Truth is the first casualty of war.
