    Maksym Petrenko led a multifaceted life. He joined the military in 2014 when russia invaded Ukraine. He wrote a book documenting his experiences. At some point he left the military and returned to civilian life, working as a programmer and teaching youth about robotics.

    He returned to defend Ukraine in 2022 and from the summer 2022 he was listed as MIA. His friends and family hoped it meant he might be alive, although somewhere in captivity, but his death was confirmed by DNA analysis.

  8. The really sad thing is that none of this needed to happen. The Russians are currently led by a megalomaniac who is sending Russians to die while killing Ukrainians. I hope the Russian people find some way to rise up against Putin and depose him.

    I’ll leave it at that, because what I really want to say would probably get me banned from here.

  9. It’s good that there was closure for his family, but once again, another horribly unnecessary death caused entirely by the ruZZian invasion.
