Marcos Leonardo is a striker from the brazillian club Santos, play as a 9. I don’t know much about the fella, but as far as I’m concerned, he’s one of the few reasons this mess of a team didn’t cement its place in Brasileirão Série B yet (relegation is still on the cards, tho). He’s very young (20yo) yet he is a regular starter. In Brasileirão Série A he has 25 games, 13 goals, 2 assists and 2171 minutes played (source: transfermarkt.com.br)
The biggest brazillian outlet published some news stating that real madrid contacted his agent. No offers where made but one thing is clear: the kid is on Madrid’s radar. I personally think is odd, but I’m not the must knowledgeable in those topics. We already have a young, inexperienced striker coming along (Endrick). Marcos is already more tested than Endrick I suppose and can shine really bright even without a great team to back him. And I suppose he could join sooner. But idk, just doesn’t seem like what the team need right now, although I do think he will become a world class player at some point in the future. Thoughts?
Anyway, unfortunately my source is in portuguese but here it is: https://ge.globo.com/sp/santos-e-regiao/futebol/times/santos/noticia/2023/11/09/marcos-leonardo-do-santos-recebe-sondagens-do-real-madrid-e-do-newcastle.ghtml

I don’t think about him at all.
And I don’t think any 20 year old brasilian would be on the radar if we hadn’t already heard about him.
His best chances would probably be to get picked up by some of mid/top teams in one of the smaller leagues in Europe Portugal, France or Netherlands e.g. even maybe going to a mid/bottom team in la liga.
Every big club in Europe is keeping an eye out for Brazilian talent, and no one have picked up on him when he is 20, it’s not sure he will get picked up by any of them.
Excellent, I think he is also the young man under 21 with the most goals since starting as a professional
Well, Marcos Leonardo is really really good. The only reason why he didn’t go to Europe yet was because Santos wouldn’t let him go because they know they will probably be relegated if they play the Brasileirão without him. He wanted to go to Roma but the Peixe wouldn’t let him haha
Anyway, I think he has incredible potential and is an amazing player, and that’s why I don’t want him to go to Real Madrid. If he goes to Madrid he will have an insane amount of competition, I want him to go somewhere he can compete to be a starter right away. He’s a pure and traditional 9, different from Roque and Endrick, and I’m excited to see him in a team where he can do that role.
