I personally don’t like it. I’d rather they keep it as it currently is. So I went looking around to see if someone somewhere had started a petition to keep it as is,

Not like they’ll listen, but it’s worth a try.

**ALSO**
While googling I found [this petition from 2018](https://imgur.com/a/wzfkJky) and thought it was funny and thought I’d share

  1. I like it tbh, it will bring something new to the competition. It will be interesting to see how many upsets we will have in this new format.

UEFA did this for money, that’s true, but it’s not that bad.

  2. I don’t care if it’s about the money, that is even OK because if the UCL makes money, we get to continue to watch it, cool.

What I don’t like is that the new format will create even less surprises. These past seasons we’ve seen Barcelona get knocked out twice from the group stages (just to name one example), that will now be very unlikely to happen.

With the new format, the same “big” clubs will continue reach the round of 16 and we will get less and less surprises.

Also, in the knockout stage, the matches will be decided by a “pairing system”, so even at that point, it’s a move to guarantee the richest clubs will move forward and smaller clubs will get even less chances, despite the premise that “now more teams will be able to compete.”

  3. I like the change of pace and I’m interested in the challenge of playing more/different elite teams.

The moral grandstanding is eyeroll inducing. Yeah, UEFA wants money but the group stages as they are boring as fuck for 2/3 of teams.
