  1. Would you let a man with no bank account do your family’s budget?

  2. Republicans concede they are not followers of Jesus: “I don’t think the Lord Jesus himself could manage this group,” said Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas.

  3. Eight days until the inevitable shutdown and *NO ONE* in the media is talking about it. I say “inevitable” because are we all forgetting why Matt Gaetz triggered the vote to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker in the first place? Oh yeah, because he cut a deal with the Dems to avoid another catastrophic government shutdown.

You think MAGA Mike Johnson is going to do the same just a few weeks into his Speakership?

  4. They really can’t stop making campaign ads against themselves.

Anybody still talking to crazy coworkers or family members need to start using “even your own party says they can’t govern” through the next year. Few will be convinced, but we should fight for every vote we can.

  5. The Westminster parliamentary system has a solution for this.

If the government is unable to pass funding bills it’s not the people who suffer it’s the Representatives. As the House is dissolved and an early election is called.

If only these Representatives had something to lose by shutting down their government.

  6. Come senators congressmen please heed the call, don’t stand in the doorway, don’t block up the hall. For he that gets hurt will be he who has stalled. The battle outside ragin, will soon shake your windows and rattle your walls! For the times they are a-changin!

  7. Ungovernable parties are notoriously unable to govern a government.

  8. It’s a tough transition going from the Party of Obstructionism to the Party of Governance. Can you imagine how Lauren Boebert would handle that gavel? In the House, not the Theater. She’d suck.

  9. I want to see their Covenant Eyes log. If they’ve been eyeballing porn on taxpayer’s time I want my money back! 😑

  10. no “we” are not ungovernable.

    The GOP is.

They have tried to overthrow our government, fixed voting through gerrymandering, ignore ethics like bribery, and I have one goal: to end democracy.

  11. But because All of them actually want a shutdown, none of them will work with Democrats to get something done. They would like to get an untenable bill to the Senate and blame Democrats for the shutdown, but it’s not that important for House Reps that could not lose their seats if they tried.

  12. Here’s my prediction for what’s going to happen next: Con’s will shut down the government, and after a period of masturbatory self congratulation over how clever and devious they are, internal polling will reveal voters correctly blame them for the shutdown. This will cause then to scramble about, especially in light of the latest Election Night Massacre Republicans suffered from, trying to cleanup the mess they made. In the end, Biden and co. will get most of what they want, with a few paltry concessions Republicans can use to convince themselves they aren’t totally worthless.

It happened with McCarthy, it’ll happen again, I’m sure.

  13. It’s a hard job trying to cut benefits for poor and middle class Americans. Even after all the cuts they have to figure out how to divvy up that money to their rich benefactors. Thanks Republicans!

  14. So with or without leadership they are useless. Got it.

  15. > “I don’t think the Lord Jesus himself could manage this group,” said Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas. **He added that he would pray for the new speaker as the House adjourned for a long weekend.**

The problem is “praying” isn’t a realistic problem solving method.

  16. Not ungovernable. Republicans refuse to govern. World of difference.

  17. magas claim they want clean bills to vote on, but right away try to include anti-abortion shit, also right after We The People told them to gtfo of here with their shit. Great example of their hypocrisy and directly disobeying our orders on abortion.

  18. 9 days from a shutdown, and the speaker gavels the house out for a long weekend.

When I’m behind in work against a deadline, I’m expected to stay and catch up.

But I actually give a shit about my job……

  19. And they’re fucking around with gestures to reduce the WH press secretary’s salary to $1. They don’t want to avoid the shutdown.

  20. “All we want to do is pass a bipartisan bill that will pass the Senate and Biden won’t veto, and also which only has conservative agenda items in it, and no concessions to the democrats. Why is this so hard?”

  21. Gee… the GOP’s politicians, who famously don’t want to govern, call themselves ungovernable. Isn’t this called the chef’s kiss?

  22. The party has emboldened and enabled the Chaos Caucus, and now they’re complaining that they’re “ungovernable”.

    Leopards eating their faces.

  23. Hey dipshits, get it together. America was founded on compromising. If you have forgotten the art of compromising and reaching across the aisle with civility, then quit. JC my 4 year old is better at compromising than most of the people in our congress!

  24. I like how these ass hats leave for a long Veterans Day weekend while they can’t pass a budget to keep funding for our armed services and refuse to authorize military appointees.

    Jokes, all of them.

  25. Expanding the House to 900 reps and forbidding gerrymandering fixes this problem forever.

  26. Should have kept Kevin in. Nothing worse than religious zealots.

  27. This is the campaign for Democrats.

Ad after ad hitting on abortion metrics and the slogan “Republicans can’t govern”. In the 15 years since the ACA they’ve given no alternative. In the three years they held a trifecta, the only major legislation was tax cuts for the rich. They have no policy ideas. They’ve shut the government down once (and likely twice). They and Trump and responsible for the state of affairs on abortion. Just hammer these things. Voters are beginning to understand that the GOP might be an alternative, but they have nothing to offer.

  28. If just 5 house republicans cross party lines we could have speaker Jeffries and solve all this shit.

that said, I have a proposal for the biden admin: As the government shuts down, shut it down in districts and states run by the people who refuse to fund it first. use that money to keep the rest of the country going as long as possible. let them taste what they’re voting for and see how long the shut down lasts. Start this TODAY.

  29. Remember when Truman called a congress that passed over 900 bills the “Do Nothing Congress?”

  30. Our military will be without pay during the holidays. Good job Republicans.

  31. This MotherFucker gonna wait for Christ to save the govt. fuck every Christian who votes for these people. You are all fucking up you’re own futures for these false prophets

  32. It’s by design. It’s the only reason Kevin got the boot. They wanted to shut down last time. They will succeed this time. It’s by design. As I said.

  33. They’re going to shut the government down before the holidays and blame the democrats

  34. A crisis of their own making – see Mitch McConnell’s (R) remarks of a few months ago about the party not electing what he called “quality candidates.”

  35. When people refuse to perform their job duties they should be relieved of those duties. Insubordination to the will of the people should get you fired.
