    Are bad batches like this common occurrences outside of fentanyl?

  2. And Rte article dishing out advice on how to take your heroin safely. You know they’re not even trying to stop drug use when the health services are focusing on educating people on safe heroin use. Sad sad times

  4. I’d say there was definitely something up with whatever was circulated this morning. Whether that proves to be a fentanyl laced batch, only time will tell. The fact they only needed two doses of Naloxone suggests if it was in the cut, it wasn’t there in any great quantity. Proper fentanyl cut heroin will require multiple doses usually for any sort of response.

  7. Suppliers caught with high amounts need stiffer sentences. This stuff is killingh people!

  9. Doing some wandering around the city the other day and saw two/three people that were definitely being impacted by fentanyl. Almost identical to the fentanyl zombies seen in the states, and not at all like your typical strung out heroin addict. It’s very sad to think we could easily get ahead of this problem with a proactive drugs policy, but we won’t. It’ll snowball until someone outside of the “usual suspects” gets killed, and it starts impacting “respectable” people.

  10. A close friend of mine who was in recovery died last month over this he relapsed and Dropped dead, whoever is selling this bad batch is pure evil and should be locked up forever

  12. Legalize, analyze, quantify, and manage like any civilized 21st-century people should.

    20th century Al Capone gang making bad political policies with adultered killer products in the unregulated underground market are worse than the junk that is killing people because this doesn’t happen this way when we regulate anything else.

  15. Why is naloxone prescription only in ireland? It’s not like someone having an overdose can grab it out of their pocket, a passerby would be too scared to look on the person for fear of needles. Let people carry naloxone.

  17. Totally preventable overdoses and 100s of preventable deaths a year. Huge overhaul of Irish drug laws needed to combat contaminated supply.

  18. I was watching a documentary the other day and it said that since retaking power, the taliban are cutting down on drug use and production in Afghanistan (which I think is something crazy like 90% of global heroin production).

    So not surprising heroin is being cut with fentanyl or other synthetics to make up for lack of ‘pure heroin’
