The Quai d’Orsay has publicly denounced the distribution and amplification of these stencil photos by the disinformation network known as Doppelgänger, or “Recent Reliable News”.
For the second time in a year, France has officially denounced a Russian influence campaign targeting its national territory. On Thursday November 9, the Quai d’Orsay publicly condemned the involvement of the disinformation network Doppelgänger, or Recent Reliable News, in the amplification and dissemination of photos of blue Stars of David tagged on walls in Paris and its inner suburbs.
In its press release, French diplomacy explains that numerous social networking accounts attributed “with a high degree of trust” to the Doppelganger network amplified the photos of these tags, but above all that they were the first to propagate them online. The investigation was carried out by Viginum, the French anti-influence organization.
As Le Monde had noted, at least two photos of the tags taken at night on rue de Rocroy (10th arrondissement) had been massively circulated on Facebook and Twitter by the Doppelganger accounts. While these automated accounts are crude, the photos circulated could not be found anywhere else, suggesting that they had been taken or received by someone connected to the disinformation network.
The Chinese with TikTok. The Russians are less intelligent but still effective. We have to prevent them from destroying our society in Europe from inside.
Who knew Russia had so many agents who also marched the streets in such huge numbers…
So, what is Europe going to do about all these agents? Agents working against the state can be jailed or deported, no?
Russia is at war with the West. It they can’t behave they need their bottom smacked and Ukraine is willing to do that for us.
