In the case of the European 9-11 it’s a good thing that something big and important fell over.
It was our last few weeks in high school (in South Africa) and our teacher came in and said we were living in exciting optimistic times (Fall of the wall and the ANC had been disbanned.) He was not wrong. Few months later Mandela was released.
The 90s was a positive decade, mostly.
A great day.
My favourite Cold War irony is fact communist moaning about “proletariat revolution” overthrowing governments lost its power because “proletariat” overthrow their governments.
Remember the one thing both Europe and Russia agree upon is that Gorbachev was responsible for the end of the Cold War and collapse of the Soviet Union.
