   I literally met more people who speak English in rural China than in Hungary’s Budapest. Every time I go there I get amazed when I can’t find anyone who can speak even a word of English.

12. I remember being shocked in Lisbon last year. They had Scandinavian-level comfort and ability in speaking English, dramatically different from its eastern neighbor. Why?
