Hi,
I’m on vacation in Marsaskala for 10 days and I’m really enjoying my stay so far.
One thing I’ve come across is a lot of hunters in fields around the town, sometimes firing their rifles meters away from hiking trails.
Checking online, I could find this [page](https://birdlifemalta.org/information/hunting/#:~:text=Each%20year%20the%20autumn%20hunting,1st%20September%20and%2030th%20September.) saying that the autumn season is ongoing and that hunting is permitted everyday but Sundays and public holidays.
Is there any other tip or best practice to follow when going hiking? Any zone or time to avoid (mornings, afternoons…)?
Is it specific to Marsaskala or other areas or just common all around the country?
Thanks in advance!

Sadly its pretty common at many places in malta.
Many of those so called „hunters“ do it illegally and without any hunting season
