  1. >The painters announce a total stop for all painting of Tesla cars.

    >- It is an all-encompassing notice that will prevent people from moving cars around, says press manager Johan Redén.

    >The Painters’ Union announces sympathy measures in two stages in IF Metall’s conflict with Tesla in Sweden. In a first step, notice is given to stop all handling of Tesla cars at 53 car painting companies in Sweden. If Tesla’s subsidiary TM Sweden does not sign a collective agreement with IF Metall before Monday, a blockade of another 56 companies will be announced.

    >- We will shut down all Tesla work if they do not sign an agreement. The question is, does Elon Musk really want to mess with the Painters’ Union? says Johan Redén.

    >For the Painters Union, IF Metall’s conflict with Tesla is a decisive battle for the entire Swedish trade union movement.

    >- In this battle, IF Metall represents all members of all unions in Sweden. Here we have a profiled employer who challenges the entire Swedish collective agreement model, which threatens the conditions in the entire labor market. For us, this is a super important battle that we must win, says Johan Redén.

    >A large part of the car painting companies covered by the notification do not currently handle Teslas. But the Painters’ Union wants to prevent Tesla from moving cars around to other companies to circumvent a blockade.

    >- It is an all-encompassing notice that will prevent people from moving cars around, says Johan Redén.

    >The first stage of the blockade comes into effect on November 21 and the second a couple of days later, unless Tesla signs a collective agreement before then.

  2. Everyone is waiting for the trade union for the financial sector to join. That is when Toys r us gave in during a similar conflict in the 90s.

  3. I love it when unions work. I’m just afraid Elmo will bribe his way out of this conundrum. Here’s hoping swedish politicians have more common sense than greed.
