Imagine if we stopped taking these people seriously, set up a no fly zone over Ukraine as soon as the invasion happened and had bases in Taiwan instead of being a bunch of knobs taking orders from dictators.
I get the fear of WW3 but sanctions and strong words are useless. Nobody wants a massive war, it’s no good for anyone but letting people use that fear as a weapon is pathetic on our part.

The EU and the US should collectively invite Taiwan to send formal ambassadors.

This is what you get when a China flagged ship, drops anchor in a prohibited zone, destroys a gas pipeline, a telecommunications cable and almost causes the invocation of article 5.
And now Estonia’s economy will implode and their diplomatic relations are no more. They’ve been warned, but dared to do something that not even the foolhardy USA would do.
