Must be terrifying and fantastic all at the same time riding such a wave.
There is a brilliant surfing documentary on Netflix I think about guys chasing the 100 foot wave. There is place in Portugal called Nazaré where these occur regularly but there isn’t even a nice sandy beach were it all peters out. You either get out of that wave the right way or its rocks for you.
That’s what you’d call a cool job.

As someone who hasn’t a clue, is there much difference in the skill needed by an experienced surfer to ride a 40ft wave vs a 30ft wave or lower?
A common mis-identification, if you look closely at the colour of the foam and the angle of the water at the base you can clearly see this is in fact a mastodon 40-foot wave.
