Hi, I know this baptism record is in Latin. It is Catholic from 1910 Chicago, so I assume all their records at the time are in Latin. HOWEVER, their surnames are the same & not translated to Latin. All the adults named in the record are from Czechia & immigrated to the US in the 1880s. I’m working through czech birth records, and the name i have highlighted is the maiden name of my 3x great grandmother. If i could just figure out what that surname is I think I can track down more info on this side of my family. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! I believe they were from the Březí area if that helps figuring out that surname. Thank you in advance!!!!

it looks like Veknice Milevsko, but Veknice doesn’t net anything on google, while Milevsko is a small town in here
and it’s not a surname 😀 so it’s gotta be wrong!
I see “e loco” on that line, I’m guessing it should be related to a place, not a surname. So I’d say they wrote what they heard, it could be “vesnice Milevsko”. Looks like it, idk
it’s not a surname, it says “vesnice Milevsko”, which means “village Milevsko”
It says “nato vesnice Milevsko” which means “born in a village called Milevsko”. Nowadays its a small town.
Not a surname… It doesnt make sense to write down their surnames as they should be the same as the surname of their kid.
What is says:
I baptise you Helene Anne [first and second name] Doubek [last name] born on [redacted],
[daughter] of Joseph Doubek and Anna Podlešák [maiden name, married Doubek].
Joseph Doubek is the son of Joseph and Catherine, born in the village Milevsko
Anna Podlešák is the daughter of Josepf and Catherine, born in Boh. (abbreviation).
Godparents: Carl Pečanka and Maria, his wife

Signed Reverend V. Štěpán.
