Should be expanded again to include basically all of the petite and grande couronne imho
Smol
Let’s take bets for the next enlargement. I’ll be optimistic and say there’ll be another one by 2025, with a fusion of the départements of the petite couronne (including the Ville de Paris) into a structure similar to the Métropole de Lyon.
I think the 1929 was created along the existing city walls. Is that correct?
A blatant evidence of why municipality size is not the same as city size
Evolution of Istanbul is even larger.
I thought the cities within the Enceinte de Thiers were incorporated to Paris in the 1860’s, when Baron Haussmann organised huge renovations in the city

Why does Paris have a panhandle to the east?
It’s Bois de Vincennes park.
The first two medieval enclosures are missing from the map, first only on the right bank:

And then on both banks of the river:

If you want to read about it, the short version is in English: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_walls_of_Paris and the longer version in French: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enceintes_de_Paris
