Dog fouling emerges as main cause of swimming bans in Dublin last year

  1. Unpopular opinion….. every dog when getting its licence should have a DNA test… dog and litter wardens can pick up dog shit… send to lab… owner gets 100 fine first offence, 250 second offence, 1000 3rd offence and so on.

Nothing to do with the articles but all the lovely walks where I live are covered with dog shit.

Every dog owner tells me they pick up after their dog so I don’t understand how it gets so bad?

  2. The monitoring is all based around ringsend. The main WWtP discharges fairly far out into sea and can’t possibly get back in shore.

The only thing apart from dog shit causing failures would be seagull shit or people taking a shit when they’re in for a swim.

  3. Just happens to be beside the Ringsend plant. Why don’t they test some other beaches that are not beside sewerage plants and see how it is?
