European countries compared to countries of similar area

  1. I love these maps, because I usually forget how small European countries are in area.

Nicaragua, Panama, UAE and Oman don’t look like big when you see them on the map…because their continents are, well, vast.

Vice versa, South Korea having the same area with Iceland shows you how densely populated it is. Same with Sri Lanka vs Latvia/Lithuania.

  2. Fitting. “Unity and Work and Progress for the Kongo-Fatherland”.

We seek the Unification with the Democratic Republic of Kongo, as well.

  3. > United States + Australia

Russia is already too big for its own good and yet it can’t help but look for the umpteenth slice of lebensraum. Talk about greediness.

  4. Iceland: 366,000 people

    South Korea: 51,780,000 people

WTF, if you remove 51 million people from South Korea it still doubles Iceland’s population in a landmass roughly the same size

  5. Im always staggered by how large russia is. Even if it lost literaily all territory east of the urals its would still be larger than India.
