I understand the guy’s sentiment. Climate change is already a divisive issue (it shouldn’t be) and bringing another divisive issue on top of it is just not politically productive.
Yeah, let’s mix climate protest, human rights, capitalism critique, world peace, abortion rights and everything…

It’s a bit worrying how activists, influencers, and other prominent figures with big platforms, have been pressured and straight up bullied into speaking up about issues they are not educated on and have nothing to do with their field of activism. You can’t comment on something, just because people want you to use your platform, without spending a substantial amount of time researching and educating yourself on the issue, because otherwise you risk participating in spreading disinformation and becoming an unwitting propagandist.

Greta Thunberg says we have to listen to Hamas, who are fighting for freedom and justice? Maybe we shouldn’t be too suprised, her views are exactly in line with the green party in Sweden and she grew up in that bubble.
I hate the way she has hijacked the environmental movement and made it about far left politics instead of saving the planet through innovation.
The way vast swathes of the political left have become so totally obsessed with this situation is unbelievable. There hasn’t been such passion for any other such issue in recent times, and god knows there have been much worse things happening.
It seems obvious to me that there is a massive propaganda machine happening behind the scenes on all social media. I wouldn’t be surprised if Russia was heavily involved.

As a jew and Israeli, it is exhausting, because the real goal is to slowly edge us out of every leftist progressive space, which is where jews have broadly found a home for a long time.
The left became so rabid the way it went on witch hunts to catch anybody out who didn’t have the right opinion on the trending social justice issue of the day is what finally pushed me out. Maybe it was always like that and I didn’t realise because I was so far on the left at one point that the witch hunts hadn’t come for me (yet)
There was one incident that really made me see that approaching your cause from the leftist/social justice angle just wasn’t gonna work. I used to be big into the anti-deforestation community, we were protesting the decision to log another native forest. We were told to bring trans flags to ‘centre the marginalised people in the community’ and not the “white cishets who are responsible for deforestation” and explicitly told that it was good to make people uncomfortable & that “transphobes aren’t welcome in the environmental movement”. So we did that, we brought the trans flag & leading our protest was the trans woman & non binary identifying people of the group waving trans flags and holding “trans for trees” and similar type slogans…and of course majority of the community support we had managed to get and the locals we had on our side quickly evaporated when our anti de-forestation protest became about other more contentious issues that normies in small towns aren’t generally the most on board with. Turns out, while majority of the people making the decisions to log native forests are white “cishets”, majority of the people who want to stop them are too. And alienating them from your movement, and anyone who doesn’t take the same stance as you on every other political movement you’re apart of, takes away majority of the support for your cause.
Good for that protester. I am losing respect for Greta. Dont poison the climate fight more than it already is. She should stay away if she cant keep on topic. Climate change should not be a divisive issue, so stop making it one.

He was treated with kid gloves. She gets so many death threats, I’d take it seriously and they’d have carried him out on a gurney sans teeth.
I guess letting a self-centered, entitled child speak on important matters is a mistake, who would have thunk it.
Also, she should probably wash more often, every-time I see her speaking her hair is dirty and in disarray just like her thoughts.

Climate change can’t be that important to her if she is willing to include such a devisive political issue into FFF. She knows it’s gonna take focus away from the core issue, and I have no idea why she would muddy the waters this much.
