Royal Mail fined £5.6m for missing delivery targets

  1. It seems like a lot of post and delivery services are struggling. The last three orders from Amazon have had problems. First class post through Royal Mail can take a week. Apparently our local post office is seriously understaffed, so they do deliveries when they can.

  2. That makes sense. Having even less money will definitely improve their performance

  3. I’d imagine, the prices will go up, rather than lower the dividends of investors

  4. If we privatise a nationally owned service and the buyers fail to meet the pre agreed levels of service but still make huge private payouts to shareholders, then we should be re nationalising the service immediately.

  5. What I found out recently is that RM simply make use of the missed delivery cards to buy time for their services. I just had a Tracked-48 parcel delivered by the 72hr TOGETHER with an extra missed delivery card labelled as the date before. I have had this for some many times already and it is getting a bit frustrating. I cannot even be bothered to wait for their deliveries at home. No surprise when they are fined.

  6. Almost like privatisation is a failure EVERY FUCKING TIME.

  7. I dread to think what fine Evri would get if they were treated with the same scrutiny. I’ve never, not once, had a parcel arrive on time from them.
