I work at a place that still uses these to power electrical generators, fully maintained and fully operational. I fire them up to test run occasionally, always nice to say “I started a concord engine today”.

The lab I worked in for my 4th year at uni had an Olympus 593 (this engine) just on a stand. We didnt use it for anything it was just a display piece.
One day I was walking past and, on a whim, decided to see if it still turned. Yep. Reached in the front and spun the blades, it turned beautifully.
I walked past again 20 minutes later and it was still turning. It can’t have been maintained for over 20 years.
