Just to give more details on this. Molodva’s population does not want this. The highest percent of pro union citizens was around.40%. On the Romanian side the percent is probably above 50% but nothing will be done if Moldova does not pass 50% or more.
Personally, I want unification, but it would be best if it is done with the majority of the population’s support.
Meanwhile, I think the approach is good: people are talking about this more freely, including politicians – Maia Sandu admitted it as a possibility but claimed it must be done with a majority of votes (50%+), but most importantly there are more and more bilateral projects and Moldova has a pro-eu government.
I think the trend shows that more and more people will favor it, so it could be just a matter of time. However, the biggest hurdle of all remains Transnistria indeed.

I don’t think unification is a good ideea. I’d rather see Moldova join the EU, thus essentially remove the border. It’s been too long and unless you have a very very high percentage (over 80%) on both sides wanting this, it would just open up a can of worms no one can afford.

No matter what route Moldova takes either trying to get in EU by themselves or through unification with Romania, it should be done slowly with a plan for both countries and with EU funds.
Moldova being such a small country, it won’t take a whole lot of money to prepare their infrastructure and boost their economy.
I would be so happy to see that, but first we have to unify the electrical grid and the gas pipes so they are not dependent on russia.
The unification will come just if the population of moldova is heavily pro, that mean at least 60%.
It is unjust fir us romanians to live in two states beacuse of stalind and hitler …
it is difficult now,… it may have been possible at the same time as Germany unifications, but Romania did not have the some clout (aka money) as Germany at the time
