6. I’ve been following this war since 2014 and military history in general for much of my life, but I am a bit unsure of how positions like this are laid out. There are two soldiers here in a small prepared fighting position. How far is the next position? Why are they broken up like this rather than being more integrated? Is this just a forward “picket”/observation position with other positions futher back? How exactly are these defenses laid out?
