    Also quite funny since in another thread, people were outraged by the contempt that renters display towards the lovely landlords. They, after all, provide a vital service to society. Same as scalpers do.

  2. It may be in big towns landlords make big money but most landlords are not there. Trying to get a decent return on a major investment is tricky. Especially when there are a few tenants who treat the property like shit and it costs a fortune putting it right or just don’t pay the rent. I have flats I have not put the rent up for ten years because a decent tenant is worth more than ratcheting up the rent but they don’t make money.
