  1. > As part of a plea deal, one of former President Donald Trump’s attorneys has told prosecutors in Georgia that she was informed in the wake of the 2020 election that Donald Trump was “not going to leave” the White House — despite the fact that he had already lost the election and most of his subsequent challenges.
    >
    > The revelation, along with others, came during a confidential interview the attorney, Jenna Ellis, had with Fulton County investigators. ABC News has obtained portions of videos of the proffer sessions of both Ellis and Sidney Powell, two attorneys who aided Trump’s efforts to overturn the election. The videos for the first time reveal details of what they have told law enforcement since agreeing to cooperate last month in the district attorney’s election interference case.
    >
    > Ellis, in her proffer session, informed prosecutors that senior Trump White House official Dan Scavino told her “the boss” would refuse to leave the White House despite losing the election, and alluded to two other instances she said were “relevant” to prosecutors — but appeared to be prevented from disclosing those in the video portions obtained by ABC News due to attorney-client privilege, which hindered portions of her proffer.
    >
    > Powell, meanwhile, explained to prosecutors her plans for seizing voting machines nationwide and claimed that she frequently communicated with Trump during her efforts to overturn the 2020 election — though both now claim she was never his attorney.
    >
    > In the session, Powell reiterated the false assertion that Trump won the election — but acknowledged in the video that she didn’t know much about election law to begin with.

wild to see Proffer session leaks like this. No wonder Trump is trying every delay tactic in the book because his only way out of this is to win in the court of public opinion by seeding his lies far and wide.

Trump was told repeatedly that he lost. He ignored that and conspired to stay in office.

And now Jack Smith will (almost certainly) get this statement and can use this in the DC case.

Yet more ketchup on the Mar-a-Lago walls tonight…

  3. My gawd we got so lucky. I wonder why he pivoted to finally leaving? Was it the White House counsel efforts? Will we get so lucky again?

  4. I hope these attorneys go to prison and are not allowed to practice every again

  5. Good to know our military just stood by while this coup unfolded.

  6. all this going on and he still found time to show up to the ufc fight last saturday with don jr and fucking tucker carlson while watching joe rogan get a boner over masculine dudes wrestling again but at least he looked he extremely pissed off while there, (interim heavyweight championship and light heavyweight championship fight for people who don’t follow it, one of the bigger ufc events for the year).

  7. Ok why isn’t this at the top of r/politics?? Why is it not headlining everywhere!

It’s been in our faces every time he was asked , prior to the election. Now we have proof?

How can millions of Americans still support this shit?

Powell is still in denial even when pleading guilty and then tries to wipe the slate clean by claiming ignorance.

Don’t know about election law but taking cases on election law….

  9. This is extremely damning testimony coming from trumps closest sources. This trial cannot come soon enough

  10. I kind of figured that was his mindset: “I just won’t leave,” but, now, reading that it actually *was*? Is honestly one of the most terrifying things I’ve learned about his presidency.

  11. I guess we should be lucky the overtly evil, facist, wannabe-dictator turned out to be so overtly lazy, stupid, and incompetent.

  12. We the people are the boss of the President. Not the other way around. He serves us. Fuck these anti American schmucks.

  13. Prison for life for the lot! Trump needs to be thrown in prison soon.

  14. The shit show on your southern border might cause day drinking, on your southern border!

  15. “The only salient fact to this nonsense line of inquiry is that President Trump left the White House on January 20, 2021, and returned to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida,” Sadow (Trump’s lawyer) said.

Your honor the only salient fact to this case is that after my client entered the bank, pointed a gun at the cashier demanding money and was told the vault was empty, he returned to his home.

  16. Now this I would have liked to see. Trump keeping his A$$ firmly planted on his Oval Office chair on Jan 20th, protected by some erstwhile secret service officers who were drinking the koolaide….while an incoming Biden administration shows up with a military escort.

And we all know whose side the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was on: his new Commander in Chief was now Joe Biden.

A donnybrook would have ensued right there in the Oval Office. Man that would have been fun to see. A real possibility that shots would have been fired, reinforcements called in, and Donald Trump would have had his kiester dumped right there on the White House lawn.

  17. Trump can’t use the Advice Of Council defense because they both have said she was not his lawyer. Plus her testimony is not protected under A/C privilege

  18. Trump is completely unhinged. How his supporters justify this is beyond comprehension.

  19. I’ll never understand how he’s just been allowed to keep stoking his cult base and having rallies after Jan 6

  20. How did these get leaked? Will that put this evidence at jeopardy of being able to be used, or cause criticism of the prosecution or other DOJ staff etc?

  21. And r/presidents wants to have a poll of who was the worst President the more you learn about them, please. Trump has absolutely got to be the worst. Period. No other president comes close to this absolute filth of a person.

  22. Thank God general Sherman isn’t alive today… His igniting of the ignorant South would be considered too extreme, but I have a feeling he wouldn’t have cared.

  23. I wish I believed any of this shit will stop the inevitable.

  24. “The boss”?

Could he be any more like a two-bit mobster?

  25. It he left! Hillary and Sanders tried to over turn Bush when he won against Gor yet that’s ok? This is just stupidity. Election interference
