I wonder why it only affects a very limited number of UK accounts? I’ve been with PayPal for years but I haven’t had anything like this yet. Kind of concerning as I write in my spare time and some of the sites I write for will only pay through PayPal.
So, it seems you were running a business account. I’m not sure what services you were using that had to be restricted.
This was all due to PayPal now being regulated in the UK as out with the EU.
The updated terms of service outlined all changes that would be occuring.
The terms were updated some time ago.
You would have received an email, app notifications, account mail and had to accept these new terms of service at that point.
It’s possible this has occured as your account uses funds from non UK sources as that seemed to be the biggest stumbling block from what I remember if the updated ToS.
I keep getting these and have never been a paypal customer so it’s spam as far as I am concerned.
Does it address you by your name if not then it’s spam so send to spoof@ PayPal

Hi, it’s a nationwide thing, but it’s only supposed to affect certain business accounts. It seems (from similar complaints online) that some regular users have been caught up in this in error. Your only option is to wait for paypal customer services to figure it out for you.

I’ve been with Paypal over 18 years and now I cannot make any payments to retailers via Paypal.
Is it just me or is this a nationwide thing?
