  1. It has long struck me as incredibly arrogant or short sighted to think that, despite our shared heritage, humans could ever be the only animals with sentience.

    It is obvious that animals think, feel, and are capable of emotion. Just as obvious as another human having those traits.

    And before anyone bangs on about “sapience tho” as some sort of arbitrary distinction, it just means “wiseness”. It’s not a scientific or very useful term. I know plenty of unwise humans, it doesn’t mean they are not sentient or shouldn’t be granted moral consideration.

  2. The fact that it’s somehow still normal to kill living beings and eat their dead corpse just shows that we didn’t really come far as a species
