  1. “In return, Israel would agree to a temporary ceasefire of three to five days and release Palestinian women and teenagers who are being held in Israeli prisons, including many who have been convicted of charges related to their involvement in attacks against Israeli soldiers or civilians mostly in the occupied West Bank.”

-great, this is why you don’t negotiate with terrorists. The guy currently spear-heading the invasion of Israel was released during the last hostage negotiation. And now they’re doing it again. Guarantee one of the violent people they release will be involved in another attack on Israelis before long.

  2. And let Hamas take nearly a week to move the remaining hostages or rearm? Hamas should release every single one of the hostages.

  3. Dozens? Aren’t there significantly more? Why half measure this shit?

  4. Any deal with terror is just inviting the next attack.
It is buying the freedom and life of some at the present at the expense of others’ in the future.
It is a hard truth, and while each victim’s life is dear, leaders should look for the best for the group.

  5. So The Rock and Gal Gadot got through to him after all.
    Take that Jon “Puteke” Oliver.

  6. Hamas would be brain dead to release even a single hostage.

  7. They will use the ceasefire to evacuate their leaders to Qatar. It’s not worth it. They offer nothing that can’t be obtained by the Israeli army.

  8. As long as it’s a ceasefire where they just hold their current positions for a week. That’s fine.

  9. I trust the Israelis to make that judgment call. It’s their people (I suppose).

  10. The article does not say when the hostages are to be released (whether it’s before or after the ceasefire), it does state: “The two leaders agreed that all hostages must be released without further delay.” But that doesn’t really mean anything.

Israel is not dumb enough to believe that Hamas will actually hold their end of the bargain (after all they have violated every ceasefire they have been involved in). The release of the hostages MUST occur prior to any ceasefire or it should be an automatic no deal.

  11. Has anyone told Israel? Last I heard they were turning down any deal that didn’t include every hostage.

  12. I like Biden, but this feels like a Nevile Chamberlain moment. If this backfires, Trump could roast the shit out of him and win the election on this difference-maker of an issue. As a liberal, I find the prospect terrifying.

If Hamas fucks the deal (which they will likely do), then Biden will look like a Grade-A Moron to way over half of all Americans. Hamas would love every minute of it. They feed off the far-right. They would *love* to have Trump in power.

  13. Once released they shouldn’t let them speak this time. It’s getting confusing hearing the hostages condemn Netanyahu over the other team.

  14. lol. Are we to believe that he still has mental facilities to even come to that conclusion?
