Vaccination of HPV would essentially get rid of the vast majority of cases screening would help catch it early for both HPV and non HPV causes.
Odd they say this is the first time for the NHS to say this. when back in 2020 Professor Peter Johnson who was the national clinical director for cancer and Professor Anne Mackie, that was the Director of Screening at Public Health England optimistically said similar things. Same again during the 2008 vaccination rollout too.
