  1. Just stumbled across this in another sub. Tried to beat it 10 times, but l never could. Is the german language really that difficult that no one can beat a german spelling check quiz? WTF!? Seems like even native speakers couldn’t.

Edit: This is the quiz: https://grammatiknazi.de/rechtschreib-quiz/

  2. It is very difficult.

Not impossible though. It’s not like any of the answers are wrong but this is difficult and with many words that aren’t of German origin so it’s not surprising natives struggle too 🤷‍♀️

Wouldn’t beat myself up over struggling with it but it definitely can be “beaten” as it’s fully correct and logical just difficult

  3. The tool is called an Inbus-Schlüssel ? My whole life is a lie.

And “Inbus” is a brand name, apparently. Wtf.

  4. As a native speaker, I didn’t find it very difficult (though I did get one question wrong – TIL it’s called an I**n**busschlüssel), but it’s not trivial and I can absolutely see it being challenging for a learner.

  5. I mean I’m an editor, but yeah, it’s doable. But it’s also a lot of words people generally struggle with, so it’s intentionally hard. I guess it was especially easy for me because I stumble over these exact words at work over and over and looked them up myself many times to be sure.
