I live in a apartment in Nicosia and see this every day I’d just like to see the Cypriot flag no Greek or Turkish stuff just Cyprus.

  1. İ agree to the fullest with you but they are going to eat you alive because you said no Greek flag, because i posted the same thing few mounths ago and some people told me that i didn’t know history and there should only be the Greek and Cypriot flags on that mountain and that the flag is sacred for the Greek people. And another guy a few days ago claimed that” Greek Cypriots don’t feel as Greek as Turkish Cypriots feel Turkish”. I don’t want to be biased but i will be surprised (and happy) if they don’t try to argue with you .

  2. That’s a ridiculous sight to see if I’m being honest. How insecure are they to have to put up a flag , when will they realize it isn’t their country and they have no right to do this? Go ahead and downvote me lol, I have no respect for the Turkish militia, leave Cyprus the fuck alone

  3. The worst part isn’t even the flag, it’s the fascist propaganda slogan underneath. It translates to “how happy I am to be a Turk.” Not Cypriot, not Turkish Cypriot, but Turkish.

  4. I would also like a Porsche, the new electric one. With all extras. Preferably for free.

  5. That was put up in response to Enosis. I am assuming you are not old enough to remember about Enosis and EOKA. The first idea of connecting the island to a different country came from the Greeks in shape of Enosis and not from the Turks.

  6. As part of a bizonal peace treaty I could see the removal of this flag as a symbolic gesture on the TC part as part of creating two zones with common currency and freedom of movement.

  7. There should be no flag on the mountain, no matter what kind, out of respect for the environment, if nothing else. The flag is next to the Maronite village Vouno, renamed Tashkent after 74, where the survivors of the Tochni massacre (mainly women and children) were taken after the war. But provocation only makes matters worse, what is needed is to be honest with our past.
