  1. How is a ceasefire supposed to work when Hamas won’t cease firing and won’t cease trying to abolish the Jewish state and do a second holocaust?

Is Israel supposed to just stop firing and turn the other cheek while the terrorist demons of Hamas just keep trying to butcher the Jews? Or what?

  2. Bigger question:

How does Biden stop two countries from fighting each other? Why do people think he has the ability to control Hamas?

  3. About time. Here’s to hoping that Israel are able to out Netanyahu and the administration that was warned about the Hamas attack and then ignored it. Netanyahu and his goons have no interest in peace or safety.

  4. “demand”. lol. israel is going to protect it interest’s regardless of what the clerical staff of another country would like.

  5. How do you get Hamas to agree to a ceasefire? Doesn’t seem to be on their agenda.

  6. For everyone asking what Israel is supposed to do, look at how America operated once we had a presence established in the ME. There were obviously instances of collateral damage, we aren’t perfect and war is hard, but there was a concerted effort to prevent civilian losses when feasible.

Israel wants to move in foot troops, conduct investigations and interviews, vet information and conduct targeted small-scope raids against Hamas operational centers and kill/arrest operatives? Fine. Sometimes those actions will also be bombing with the potential for civilian casualties, I don’t think anyone reasonable expects the civilian toll to be literally zero.

But Israeli government isn’t currently operating like that. They aren’t taking the proportional, measured response because it requires time, effort, money, and doesn’t further their desire to destroy Palestine. Which the right-wing government officials want to do.

  7. Just to be clear, this is “staff” of the administration and not Biden himself.

  8. Both sides need to agree to a ceasefire for it to be relevant, yeah?

  9. If we are still providing Israel with money, it should stop immediately.

  10. Determined to help the Media Blame Biden for Hamas and Netanyahu.

  11. How you supposed to demand something that requires two willing participants when one or both are not willing to participate?

  12. Netanyahu and his Likud party have been wanting to off the Palestinians for a long time. They see this as their big opportunity. Little things like “rules of war” won’t be a factor.

  13. By which they mean Israel stops trying to fight the enemy and we go back to “Hamas firing rockets at Israeli civilians every day” again?

  14. Meanwhile there’s 200K rallying in support of Israel in DC today, including Schumer, Jefferies, and even the cuckoo Speaker Johnson, among many other congresspeople.

Yet not a peep on here about that.

  15. I am not a Biden fan. But what the fuck is he supposed to do? He can publicly call for it and put pressure on Israel. But that is it.

  16. We are not at the “writing a strongly worded letter” stage but we are at the “sign a strongly worded letter somebody else wrote” stage.

When are we going get to the “cut off the funding and impose sanctions” stage?

  17. Is the House going to censure all of them like they did Rep Rashida?

  18. Many people forget that there already was a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. It was on a Oct 6.

  19. I ceasefire means that *both sides* agree to this. I don’t get why anyone in their right mind wouldn’t support this no matter how they feel about each side of this conflict. Whatever stops the violence is a good thing at this point, and this is coming from someone who knows way more than most about the history, both modern historical context and pre-modern era historical context.

  20. Israel is a sovereign nation. These idiots think Biden can order a ceasefire?

  21. For Hamas, a ceasefire only means time to rest, rectuit, resupply, and bide time for the next attack.
