  1. >that temporarily funds some federal agencies to Jan. 19 and others to Feb. 2.

So they’re planning to come back with this threat again in January.

  2. We’re gonna get a megathread for a CR that is almost 100% going to pass the senate, but probably not when Mike Johnston gets ousted.

  3. It had 209 yes votes from Democrats in the house, so I’m inclined to think this will pass.

  4. Got to defend our poor, poor billionaires from being picked on by the evil and mean IRS. That is all both parties seem to agree on….

  5. It’s a clean CR that at least pushes the shutdown until after the holidays.

Given the dysfunction and right-wing extremist power in the House right now, it’s the best we were gonna get.

  6. Mike Johnson’s first major act as Speaker is to do the exact same thing that got McCarthy canned: working with Democrats.

So the GOP gets their ‘win’ by not holding the bag for another shutdown and MAGA will get its pound of flesh when they oust Johnson.

  7. Fingers crossed 🤞 for a fistfight on the Senate floor. Don’t stop them this time Bernie

  8. It looks like the House is giving Johnson one CR. The next time he does one, if he does, he will be ousted and we’ll be looking at another shutdown.
