  1. Translation of the article:

    >The countries towards which Romanians have the greatest sympathy are Spain and Italy, 82.8% of respondents having rather positive feelings for Spain (compared to 72.9% in 2013) and 81.4% for Italy (compared to 70.5% in 2013). Germany follows, with 77.6% rather positive feelings (compared to 74.3% in 2013), France with 75.4% (compared to 73% in 2013) and Great Britain with 75.4% (compared to 75.5% in 2013).

    >69.2% of the survey participants declare that they have rather positive feelings for the Republic of Moldova (compared to 65.7% in 2013), and 67.5% for the USA (compared to 70.3% in 2013).Ukraine enjoys rather positive feelings from 43.3% of Romanians (compared to 41.8% in 2013), and Hungary from 39.7% (compared to 29.3% in 2013). The ranking is completed by China with 36.3% rather positive feelings (compared to 56.5% in 2013) and Russia with 18.3% (compared to 36.8% in 2013).

    >**A major setback for Russia**

    >”Spain and Italy, the Western countries that host the largest communities of Romanians, dominate the ranking of positive feelings towards the countries. The most interesting photo, however, is the comparison with the situation 10 years ago (2013), when INSCOP Research asked a similar question within the Truth Barometer about Romania.
    >
    >First of all, a major regression can be observed in the case of Russia, for which the share of positive feelings has halved in 2023 compared to the situation in 2013, from almost 37% 10 years ago to 18% today. The data also correlates with the involution of trust in Russia (the indicator of a lot and a lot of trust, which reflects a much more demanding assessment of the population’s attitude, collapsed in the case of Russia from about 18% to about 8% today). The obvious explanation for this sharp drop is the war started by Russia against Ukraine.
    >
    >On the other hand, compared to 2013, we notice an increase in 2023 of the weight of positive feelings towards most Western European countries, but also towards the Republic of Moldova”, explains Remus Ştefureac, director of INSCOP Research.

  2. The list for a much easier understanding.

    5. **Great Britain** – 75.5% –> **75.4%** *(-0.1%)*

    11. **Russia** – 36.8% –> **18.3%** *(-18.5%)*

  3. Every Romanian person I ever met was nice and interesting. I work with a lot a lot of Romanian doctors, I’m a nurse in France.

  4. Spain over Italy is the biggest betrayal in history 💔.

Friendship ended with 🇷🇴, now 🇦🇱 is my best friend 🤝🏻.

  5. Austrian before clicking: *Hihi! I’m in danger*

After clicking: *Phew, they’re not even talking about us*

  6. >Poland not even in the graphic

Well, it could be worse I guess 😛

  7. So, bottom line is that Romanians have a overwhelmingly positive view of western countries that are our allies. Furthermore, in the last 10 years the percentage with a positive view of those countries increased or remained almost the same. Only about US there is a very slight reduction. Those percentages are close to those about a possible ro-Exit. Over 70% are against it and only about 10% or so for it. We are still a solidly pro-western country. This made my day.

I think that the rise about Italy and Spain is the number of migrants there and the fact that the level of xenophobia in those countries decreased as Romanians integrated rather well.

The good image most western countries have runs contrary to Russia. We have a part of the population that is pro-Russia, but it is rather small and the drop between the polls is significant. This confirms the idea that Romanians do not like Russians. Even during the period when Russia was not that unfriendly towards the west, most Romanians disliked that country. In this regard we are closer to Poland and the Baltics, rather then Serbia, Bulgaria or Montenegro. I think Romania’s weariness of Russia is rather an outlier in the region. (I have no idea what Hungarians would poll).

The polls about China and Ukraine are interesting. There were no major diplomatic incidents regarding China nor major dealings with them. Yet, there is a 20% drop. The largest. While I like that we are weary of them, I wonder why we have that crash.

Ukraine is interesting because it almost stagnated. This increase is insignificant even after the war. I wonder why? On one hand, Romanians were never close to Ukraine and the relations between the two states were poor and many of the reasons are still there. Only in the last year we had the Bystroe canal flair up again, the problems with the Romanian language in education, the problems about Ukraine recognizing Moldavian that only last month was fixed (even there only in statements from Zelensky as I do not think that legislative steps were being made). On the other hand, maybe many Romanians consider Ukrainians as a kind of Russians and the latter are not liked. Bottom line, there is major distrust about Ukraine and I think that this is the case on the other side as well.

  8. They seem to prefer every country except Romania. The real question is: Why do Romanians have such a strong affinity for other countries? Not only Romania, but many Eastern European countries are drawn towards North and West Europe. Migration to these prosperous regions is fueled by similar factors, including better economic opportunities, living standards, and stability. I

  9. Bullshit title OP. It’s not love but a somewhat positive view.

Nr 11 is bullshit since there is not way almost 40% had a positive view of ruzzia. They’ve always been hated in Romania and should be under 10%. We have some Putler stans but they are few.

Spain and Italy are a given since romanians are the most present minority there. We’re restoring the Roman Empire starting from Dacia :)))

  10. What is their view, if any, on Baltics? Personally probably going to move to Romania in the future. Not worried I would not be liked since I’ve been there twice already but just curious.
