  1. My thought is that this is the Result of the pro-palestinian/Hamas slogan “From the River to the Sea”, which was recently decleared illegal in germany is on the top banner.

Edit: Not decleared illegal in germany (yet), just in Berlin, some states are considering following.

  2. Apparently they had “from the river to the sea” in their banner, which has been declared illegal over here recently because it calls for the destruction of Israel (muh free speech /s)

Well, no big loss, that sub was pretty much a Hamas propaganda site by now.

  3. True! So, I just checked myself, and 1. Doesn’t show it in the search bar and 2. When accessing directly through r/ it runs with a bunch of error messages

Edit: Is the cyberpolice of Germany checking our reddit activity? 👀

  4. Does anyone know why this seemingly random subreddit turned into a collection of islamist propaganda?

  5. Seems like there was an attempt to be an antisemitic shithole.

  6. It will be fun to watch the left flip flopping on the issue of “hate speech” in the coming years

  7. I’m Israeli and I don’t support the erosion of freedom of speech

  8. Ahh, 41 Upvotes and 31 comments, you knows it’s gonna be fun.

  9. Usually not a fan of things like this, but I have to say: Deserved.

  10. There was an attempt to justify a terrorist organization

  11. Good. screw people calling for a genocide of israelis.

What was at first just a classic funny subreddit became another political circle jerk. There are plenty of other subs for that.

  12. Reddit is a whole is about to get geoblocket in several countries, thanks to Reddit’s content policy.

  13. Interestingly, I was banned from multiple sub-reddits at the same moment, apparently for questioning whether 500 people really died in the explosion at the hospital and whether it was really clear Israel did it.

The only sub I actually posted anything in was r/Palestine – a sub-reddit which regularly celebrates Hamas fighters and is full of propaganda.

I can only assume the other subs, including r/therewasanattempt are all run by the same people.

    Those subs were:

    r/Palestine

    r/therewasanattempt

    r/boringdystopia

    r/AskMiddleEast

    r/worldnewsvideo

  14. It’s about time. That sub turned into a propaganda hub.

  15. Excellent. Mods there are terrorist sympathisers. Frankly, I’m surprised Reddit lets them stay around…

  16. I was permabanned there after I questioned the Hamas propaganda and the antisemitism there. Reason: propagating genocide and apartheid. That and Publicfreakout was taken over by that branch.

  17. Reddit cannot be happy with mods pointlessly getting major subs blocked.

  18. That sub should have absolutely nothing to do with politics anyway.

  19. That sub is fkn disgusting. They’re shilling so hard for Hamas like their lives depended on it and the most infuriating part is that it’s actively encouraged by the mod team there.

  20. common germany W, those racist bastars of r/therewasanattempt with their reddit nazi mods perma banning everyone thats not ultra pro palestinial are insane

  21. Good. That sub turned into absolute garbage as soon as the Hamas terrorist attacks took place.

  22. Some people in this thread seem really surprised that Germany isn’t the biggest fan of antisemitism.

  23. CAN ADMINS OF THIS SUBREDDIT REDDIT DO A BETTER JOB OF MONITORING WHO IS ALLOWED IN HERE PLEASE?! WE HAVE A NEW MEMBER, A WOMAN. SHE’S BEEN PRIVATELY MESSAGING MEMBERS, SENDING THEM NAKED PICTURES OF HERSELF IN NASTY POSES ALONG WITH CLOSE UPS OF HER UNMENTIONABLES. SHE IS OFFERING AN IPHONE X IN EXCHANGE FOR SEXUAL FAVORS. I AM ESPECIALLY BOTHERED BECAUSE IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN IPHONE SE AND OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING’S WRONG WITH IT. IT’S SUPER SLOW AND THE CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON.

  24. hahaha and they were so proud of themselves eating hamas propaganda. It was the biggest pro-hamas echo chamber on reddit. Good riddance.

  25. It has turned into a virulently antisemitic propaganda sub. No loss.

  26. I don’t know enough about the slogan “From the River to the Sea” to decide if it historically really implies a call for the destruction of Israel – semantically it does not, but the same was true for the “Arbeit macht frei” slogan.

As a German, it feels like the narrative about this war is heavily controlled and anyone who even slightly criticizes Israel and just asks for adherence of the international humanitarian law will be labeled as antisemite or Jew hater.

I even got a perm banned from r/de for “hate speech” for writing : “it will likely end with a partially ethnic cleansing of the Gaza Strip by Israel. “Concept papers” and quotes from Israeli government officials hinting at this scenario already exist”

Doesn’t feel like free speech is allowed on this topic in Germany…

  27. Good! It probably was identified as violating their hate speech standards. It’s become a goddamn cesspool.

  28. I mean the police last week in Berlin told us that it’s band to say “Stop the genocide”

Germany love be on the wrong side of history all the time :)))))
