I bought a ticket from Frankfurt to Berlin with a stop in Leipzig.
After translating the ticket it says that this ticket is only valid from Leipzig to Berlin, and that I have to buy another ticket from Frankfurt to Leipzig.
Am I missing something here? I thought that I paid for the whole trip. Should I buy another ticket from Frankfurt?
Thanks in advance.

What did you cross out? Is the first train DB?
You get several „warnings“ while booking a ticket which isn’t valid for the whole journey.

Looks like the Frankfurt-Leipzig leg is a night train not operated by DB, for which you cannot book tickets via DB (welcome to the shitshow of night trains in Europe in general).
Assuming it is a train operated by ÖBB (the Austrian State Railways which operates many night trains across Germany), you should try to look up the connection at [oebb.at](https://oebb.at) and try to buy a ticket there.
You blocked out the train numbers for some reason, which would be the most useful information to identify why they‘re not part of your ticket. Probably it’s not run by DB.
The train you have selected is a night train operated by the Austrian national operator ÖBB. For some reason, even though you’re only using it within Germany, this means you need an international ticket from [international-bahn.de/](https://www.international-bahn.de/).
That is not the ticket, it is just the connection you asked for. The train ticket you paid for is on the page upper left.
Why did you block out the train numbers? That’s just more effort to find out what happened. Anyways if you fill in this request into DB again, you will find multiple options. The one you bought is cheaper (for me flexpreis 24.90) and says under the price that it is a Teilstreckenpreis. Which means it doesn’t include the First night train EN40459. What you needed to buy was the full connection with change in Leipzig, (for me flexpreis 74,90) or the night train straight trough, for which it still needs to calculate the price.
What I think happened is that you choose the cheapest one without seeing that it is only a partial journey. While a mistake on your part, I still put the blame on DB for giving you these confusing options. This also happens with private operators like Flixtrain, but there it is not entirely their fault as they have to show it even if they don’t sell it.
So in all, yes you need another ticket. If you can cancel this one then do that and choose the other option. If not then buy a seperate ticket for the night train.
Seems like a troll post tbh.
When did you buy it?
If less than 12 hours have passed since then, you can use “[instant cancellation](https://int.bahn.de/en/booking-information/exchanges-refunds)” to get a refund even if you booked a non-refundable ticket.
thank you guys, you’ve been very helpguk. I guess I should have paid more attention when booking, the site is very confusing when making a reservation.
I will try buying the ticket for the other trip from Frankfurt.
