Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin ran to Fox News to explain that, despite his best efforts to throw down in the middle of a Senate hearing, “political correctness” is what stopped him from beating up a witness.
On Tuesday, Mullin stood up during a hearing of the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee and made a move to physically fight Teamsters President Sean O’Brien, a witness before the committee with whom he’s been feuding for months.
Mullin has been going on a media tour in the wake of the near-altercation. During an interview with Sean Hannity, the Fox News host reminisced to Mullin about his rough and tumble youth. “I don’t think there was a single day that we were playing sports where we didn’t drop the gloves or, you know, have a brief interlude of, you know, throwing fists and it would be all be over,” Hannity said, asking Mullin when society had become so “woke” that fist-fights are no longer an acceptable solution to conflict.
Mullin agreed, telling Hannity that “it’s political correctness.”
“All of a sudden you got to worry about somebody’s feelings but oh, by the way, the left can say whatever they want,” the senator added.
Lol, no he couldn’t have. He was quivering as he said it
This is the Republican Party. A bunch of dumbasses that peaked in high school.
EDIT- To all of the replies that are pointing out that I’m giving them too much credit for saying that they peaked even in high school: I agree. This is the behavior of a raging toddler. This party is embarrassing for our country. Pitiful, pathetic behavior.
or, you know…. laws. But by all means, I’m down for a news cycle about a GOP Senator being charged with felony assault.
If you’re getting into fist-fights every day with your friends as a child, maybe you weren’t friends with them
Non-violent politics is “political correctness”.
Political Correctness, otherwise known as staying out of jail.
Dude got upset cause union guy posted a picture of his short ass on the debate stage standing on a box…just so he would be the same height as his opponent. Tiny man couldn’t let it go.
“We’re gonna settle this healthcare funding debate the only way we know how: arm wrestling.”
And shortness.
And by “political correctness” he means 82 year-old Bernie Sanders scolding him.
Ah, yes. That troublesome political correctness and wokeness getting in the way of…<checks notes> elected federal officials getting into physical fights to solve disagreements.
He doesn’t understand his job description.
“I would have committed a violent act if I didn’t suffer any consequences from doing it.” Smdh.
“Trust me bro, I used to do MMA, I could totally have kicked that guy’s ass. That would’ve showed him who’s boss!” – that Republican senator, probably.
To the GOP thuggery they see anything that prevents them from doing they want as “woke” and “politically correct”.
Most people see these things as laws, kindness and human decency.
Ah, the fabled decorum of the Senate.
“It’s just political correctness (*and laws governing assault*) that stops tough guys like me from kicking everybody’s ass.”
An adult trying to start a fight, in public, at their job has nothing to do with political correctness.
Spoken like a guy who was born on third base thinking he hit a home run in life.
Oh ok, the legal system is woke now too. The idea that you could be arrested for an Assault that occurred during a legislative proceeding in front of many many witnesses as it was being live streamed throughout the country is somehow because of PC culture.
Who wants to bet that Mullin short dude drives an oversized vehicle?
Lets all mail Mullins a diaper and pacifier
“Political correctness” has long been the boogeyman to these fascist assholes. Mad they can’t wave the confederate flag, say the n word or cane a member of congress without judgement.
Personally, I would have like to have seen him try. As a person who grew up in the 70s, I know the lesson, “you never fight A teamster”. Meaning there’s never just one teamster. Mullins would have found 5 or 6 fists in his face before anybody knew what was happening.
right not because fighting as adults is stupid and uneccessary its was cause political correctness. This fucking guy….
Here’s MarkWayne beating up a bunch of January 6th rioters:
So let me see if I have this right . . . “political correctness” stopped a United States Senator from physically assaulting a witness at a hearing.
Explain to me why this is a bad thing?
If he wants to avoid political correctness, he should resign as a senator and go fight people in a bar parking lot.

Picking a fight with the head of the teamsters Union sure is a bold choice. They’re aren’t exactly the forgive and forget type.
He also was made fun of for sounding like a cat which was fucking hysterical.
This dude is a trust-fund baby who was King of the Trailer Park in Oklahoma.
If you ever need an example of toxic masculinity, here’s a good one. Can’t argue with a witness on actual details or information, but wants to resort to violence. Guy shouldn’t have made it this far into politics.
Welcome to a US senator being a 6 year old boy.
Yeah go ahead and pick a fight with the Teamsters I’m sure that will work out great for you.

TIL the people of Oklahoma elected a literal clown to the United States Senate and his actual first name is *Markwayne*
He wanted to fight Sean O’Brien..a fourth generation Teamster member from Medford, MA?
Does this bozo not know this history of Irish union leaders from the Boston area? O’Brien’s family ties to the Teamsters definitely overlapped with Jimmy Hoffa’s time there.
